Festivities of St. James the Apostle

Mugardos Polbo Festival
The second Saturday of the month of July takes place in Mugardos the octopus party. Undoubtedly, the most emblematic product of the area and which is prepared “a la mugardesa”, a feast that takes place on the seafront promenade. A celebration in which more than 3,000 portions of octopus are handed out and which also generates a very lively atmosphere.
Roncudo Barnacle Festival
The Festa do Percebe do Roncudo is held in Corme on the first Saturday of July, a celebration in which the barnacle is the protagonist and a celebration that is considered a Festival of Tourist Interest in Galicia. There are also photographic exhibitions, workshops and charangas.

Fiestas of Carmen in Vigo
These festivities take place on 16 July and feature a maritime procession that sets off from Vao beach. This is one of the oldest maritime processions that takes place in Berbés, Vigo and near the Rias Baixas. There is also a seafaring procession in Bouzas.
The Rapa das Bestas of Sabucedo
This festival is classified as a Festival of International Tourist Interest and takes place on the first Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of July in Sabucedo in Pontevedra.
In this celebration, the horses are gathered from the bush and shaved, hence the name of the celebration in question.
Lacón Festival
It takes place on 5 July in Silleda and in the Plaza da Feira Vella you can taste the typical menu of the area in which the lacón is the real protagonist. Specifically, the dishes of cooked or roast pork shoulder, bread, wine, dessert and coffee, all accompanied by the best music.

Lobster Festival
The so-called Festa da Langosta (Lobster Festival) takes place in A Guarda, from the 5th to the 7th of July. It is a festival that combines the best of the musical groups’ performances with different leisure activities. Undoubtedly, a festival that is a reference point and has been declared of Tourist Interest in Galicia.
Sardiñada popular no Cirs Cervás en Ares
This gastronomic festival takes place on 6 July and, as its name suggests, consists of a popular sardinada. A perfect choice for lovers of this fish which is, without a doubt, delicious.
Cea's Bread Exaltation Festival
This festivity takes place in San Cristovo de Cea on 7th July. This is an event held in the Campo de A Saleta, where you can taste this exquisite food, as well as try the different gastronomic products with designation of origin. Also the day before, the Ruta dos Fornos (Bread Route) is held, in which a gastronomic tour of the old bread ovens of Cea takes place.
Pontesampaio Eel Festival
It is a celebration that takes place in Pontevedra on 8 July and pays homage to the eel, which can be eaten in casseroles with noodles, fried, pickled, etc.
